Hi, my name is Jayhawk Jake, and I'm addicted to Corvettes
I've talked about it on here to some length, how I'd like to get a C4 once I have another garage space ( and monies), but after last night I'm a confirmed Vette-a-holic. I need that low slung V8 coupe in my life

I think they have a 12 step program for that... You might want to look into it. Although, I am not quite sure what their goals are since I am pretty sure step 4 involves burnouts.

Dat Poncho.
Also, shaker induction zits weird me out a bit, but sweet early C3 regardless.

Haha when I saw this post I knew you would comment this.

Some curiosity as to what's going on here, but likely another '32 put together with zero brains, no imagination, and a bucket of money. HAET

To actually break the addiction I imagine the steps involve many Miata's

All I can think of is Bender....
"I'm going to start my own support group. With blackjack. And hookers. FORGET THE BLACKJACK!"

Shaker zits? That's an L-88 hood.

IIRC it was a pretty nice coupe, but seriously that shit is overplayed. Seeing one or two is kinda neat, but when this happens?
Too many people doing the same thing. That pic was taken early too, two more of the same basic thing parked behind them later.

Hi.. I'm one of the few out there who actually LOVE the C4 (The car.. not the.. OH.. yeah.. what car?.. well I'd like an Audi C4 as well, but I'm talking about the Corvette this time..(what do you mean I'm talking to my inner voices?)) Anywho, is that CCW Wheels I spot on that C4?

My dad tried to break his V8 addiction with a Miata, the car lasted 6 months before being sold.
"It wasn't a V8."

C3s are strange when it comes to mods IMO. They are gorgeous stock, and as soon as you change one thing they become hideous. That shaker looks weird, someone had one with a nasty bodykit, and there's a C3 convertible that comes to this show with some weird hood that has no headlights

Hi Jake I am insane and love rust buckets that can get hoonage and am addicted to fixing my home made motorcycle at the side of the road

Easy solution: LS swap the miata.
If I had any mechanical skill I'd totally have a V8 miata

I was referring to it as derogatorily as possible. I.e. the separation lines it uses makes it look like an unholy hybrid of an induction hood and a shaker - but one that hasn't popped through. Thus, shaker zit.

Gotcha.
Yeah, I'm not a fan on any cars that don't need it. It's a shame so many cars need it. LOL.

I'm okay with permanent headlight C3s, that was a required mod for racing classes using headlights back in the day. They *are* uncommon, though, and no guarantee that's what the "weird hood" is - might be something else.

Maybe? I don't know wheels.
I used to be on the fence about the C4. Then I realized they're affordable, and started looking into them. Now I love them, the more I see the more I like. They are ridiculously low and long, and sitting inside of one is badass, you're so ridiculously low. I really hope I can come up with enough monies to buy one next year

I'll find a picture on my PC later. It's not permanent headlights, it's shaved headlights. It looks terrible

He talked about super/turbocharging the Miata, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. The feels just weren't there for him. I'm going to practice my mechanical skills until I'm able to V8 swap whatever I want.
V8 PT Cruiser? Sure. V8 Fiat 500? Why not?. V8 Mustang? Still slow. V8 Hayabusa? Who wants to live to be 100 anyways?
V8 swap all the things!

I've been in love with the C4 since I saw "Faceman" drive one on the A-team :) And yeah, they are rather cheap. Wish you the best of luck in getting one mate :)

Well, it looks exactly like an L-88 hood so I am making an educated guess. Not a shaker (like you already mentioned). And pretty much necessary for any intake taller than stock or a *shudder* Edelbrock Torker II.

It's ok, vettes were my first favorite car too. One of my idiot friends just got this Z06, tuned and cammed and putting out 423whp, for $19k and 10 blowjobs, and is proceeding to hoon it all over Michigan:

The C5 Z06 is my 'knowing what I know now' car.
I'd go back to 3 years ago, get a Z06 and a cheap truck instead of the new Koup I bought. I'm hoping that C7s follow the depreciation trend of other Corvettes, once I pay off my Sonic I may go after a newer a Corvette to replace it as the nice car in my garage and get a truck or SUV to replace the utility of the Sonic

He's talking about another weird hood he saw. Since he says "with no headlights" it may be more than the hood of the subject that's weird.
![]() 04/19/2014 at 10:24 |

actually that's a factory GM L88 hood for the C3's (68-69) or its know by its nickname "the urinal" they are not a shaker since its not connected to the motor to create the "shake"

I feel you. Vettes have been my favorite sports car since as long as I remember. There's just something about them that puts a smile on my face.

I've seen early C4s (the squared off 80's one's (which I want)) in relatively good shape (high mileage but everything is fairly clean) around 5k and under 10k.

"when you come home wreaking of transmission fluid its bad, but ya know it isn't hookers and crack" ~ jay leno
in short. there are worse things to be addicted to. nothing wrong with a vette.

It's not difficult to find them under 10k in decent shape, but around here it's tough to find anything, period
